Priorities:

Prosper Portland is committed to making racial equity the foundation of our community and economic development work. We embrace values of authentic inclusion, transparency, and collaboration, and we direct our investments toward programs and approaches specifically focused on meeting the needs of diverse Portlanders.

This fund prioritizes underrepresented communities; that is, people and places that historically and currently have not had equitable access to infrastructure, healthy environments, or housing choices. Disparities may be recognized in both services and outcomes.

 Selection Criteria:

All applications will be evaluated by a review panel with a diversity of identities and lived experiences along the following criteria:

  • Economic impact: Does this event provide an economic benefit for the people, neighborhoods and businesses directly affected? (For example: paid work opportunities, foot traffic to nearby businesses, increased awareness of neighborhood resources)

  • Community building: Does this event provide opportunities for connection, celebration, collaboration, civic pride, and/or acts of service?

  • Diversity, equity and inclusion: Does this event prioritize underrepresented communities?

  • Viability: Does this application outline a realistic plan for producing an event within the budget, scope, and prior experience presented by the applicant?
